Reviving Banned Google Adsense Account In Just One Amazing Step?

My Publisher account was acquired back by Google adsense and I am losing about 30% of my income that is usually generated from this website. I suspect it could be either this two reasons, due to the large number of clicks against my monthly average of unique visitors or spammers who clicks at fast rate and picked up by googlebots since i saw a large amount of clicks last month but did not report to Google in time which was a mistake for me!

Sadly, the mail arrived in my inbox before I could say anything and it was time for Google to disable and ban my account with this dreadful message, no one would want to see.

“While going through our records recently, we found that your AdSense account has posed a significant risk to our AdWords advertisers. Since keeping your account in our publisher network may financially damage our advertisers in the future, we’ve decided to disable your account.

Please understand that we consider this a necessary step to protect the interests of both our advertisers and our other AdSense publishers. We realize the inconvenience this may cause you, and we thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.

If you have any questions about your account or the actions we’ve taken, please do not reply to this email. You can find more information by visiting https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=57153&hl=en_US.

It did not stop me from finding ways to try and reinstate myself as a Adsense publisher, which i stumbled across a black hat way to cross the "Google firewall" to get back my account. Amazed by the post made by "nextgen66" who is a Digital Forum member, backdated to one year ago in 2007, i decided to try out his method.

Basically, we could use hubpage to register for a Google adsense account and get an automatic approval through hubpage without any consideration and it is faster than applying directly from Google adsense.

Researching through what Hubpage had to say, it seems like "nextgen66" had done his homework and read the FAQ.

"Getting signed up with AdSense is easy. Please follow these step-by-step instructions (Also includes a troubleshooting section if you're running into problems)."


I tried what the FAQ said and I thought it might just work, since the screenshots and explaination fits exactly what was said in the FAQ. It will take 3 days for Google adsense to reply me back!

Did it work after 3 days?
Apparently, it seems to me the whole thing was not working and i consider it as a myth now since the return mail was that it is not accepting me so maybe I got to think of something else to get my account back quick!

I also guess we forgot to scroll down the hubpage FAQ further as it did not give any assurances that we will surely get our Adsense account.

"My application was rejected by Google. Why?We don't know either. Please consult the "rejection" email sent to you by Google. It will give you instructions to fix whatever issue caused the disapproval and give you instructions on how to reapply. If you still have questions about the disapproval, you should respond to that email to reach the AdSense support team who will be able to address the issue."

Yahoo Finally Found Ways To Socialize With The Public

Yahoo Buzz is finally open to the public to submit their content to the social news network. Back then, a small handful of publishers could submit content in a bid to iron out any pre-public release kinks. Yahoo Buzz is very much a mainstream social news site with huge potential.

Yahoo Buzz allows anyone to submit and vote upon content much like you would expect from the like of the already established digg.com. We might have found a contender to overthrow the likes of Giant Social sites, Digg and Stumbleupon. But can Yahoo Buzz live up to its expectation?

The Bull and Bear Pagerank Movements

Over the past 2 quarters, i have noticed Google pagerank is moving up and down with inconsistence and i am starting to suspect how Google ranks a site for now. I received a Pagerank 4 early this year in January 2008 then my pagerank crash to a 2 and now back to 3. It come be due to the incoming love links i receive on my blog bash contest that pushed my rank to 3.

Links that are on my blogroll are on "nofollow" and i have yet to sold any text link which could be reason why Google rewarded me with a uptrend rank. Even when i have no relationship with Google Adsense anymore which i will talk about in my next post. The rumors of using Google product which entitles you higher chance of getting better pagerank is nothing but just folklore.

PepperJamNetwork Affiliate Relationship Revoked?

I am not sure why i received this email from PepperJamNetwork about a week ago which got me really confused. I am pretty sure this was sent out from PJN as the email address looks genuine while it is a no reply email.

Have you received a message like this before, this was the first time i am seeing such a mail that comes from a affiliate network and i am sure this is a flaw or mistake made by them.

I have sent a message out already but i have yet to receive any reply back via the mail, anyway this is what it wrote on the email.

"Dear Etienne Teo,

You have been terminated from the pepperjamNETWORK affiliate program.
Please remove your links, as you will no longer be receiving a payout
for leads or sales effective immediately. If you are interested in the
reason, please contact the aforementioned advertiser. Thank you.

Advertiser Support Team"

I tried logging into my publisher account and surprising i am able to login still even after i am terminated, was it suppose to be a be-lated april fool joke? I am sure that is not what Kris Jones would like to joke about. Recently i am hit by many weird and stunning emails that i couldn't verify whether it is from the right source.

An advice to such mails that comes with alter links, please remember not to click on them, it might carry trojan or clients that auto download into your system without your knowledge. Unless you are sure about source otherwise my advice is to check with the team and await their responses to the message, for now i am still using PJN and also waiting for the reply that i sent out which could be in queue 200,000 which might take more than two weeks to reply!

Blogging For Dummies Book Ain't Dumb After All!

I was feeling stiff yesterday and thought i could buy a cup of coffee to perk me a little after completing the sequences of how my prizes are going to be given out and how the contest is going to be structured so i am looking forward to a crazy lot of contestants who have the strong urge of winning prizes!

I passed by Borders which is one of the biggest bookstore here in Singapore and that is beside coffeebean but then again i thought i might find a few more new arrivals as they have a wide range of books and the section i normally browse through would be under "business management"and "self-improvements". These were the two categories that i want to improve in terms of self learning. As i was glancing along the shelf, i came across a book on "Blogging for Dummies" and i thought to myself for a second, "how on earth will anyone purchase such a book that could be easily Googled for online." I flipped the book around and the price tag on this book printed $26.99 bucks after i do a conversion in currency, i mean you could get this book at $19 over at amazon if you love to keep a full collection on dummies, there is no need to purchase it here and why are there so many on this shelf, i can't understand, will they sell?

What happened next changed my perception entirely and got me pondering why that happens, A lady walked past and grabbed the book which i have just described as basic stuff which i am sure it will be left on this shelf forever and there she started browsing through the contents and told a glance on the front cover "Blogging for Dummies" and left with a smile to the counter and purchasing the book at $26.99, i guess i was wrong after i rewinded the process and analysis what could have triggered the lady to purchase the book?

The book did not attracted my attention and it is clear why it did not. The fact that i am a blogger myself, do i need such a basic book to teach myself how i can blog better? Does it teach me advanced SEO methods, blogging tips and even analysis on how you can addon great firefox applications which can help you work better daily? I don't think so but one thing i missed out why this book was there on the shelves selling like pancakes in Singapore is because Asians are getting more and more curious on how online marketing and blogging could create a reach and passive income into their lives.

This book "blogging for dummies" is meant to target on a certain niche of people and they are people who might not be tech savvy and wants a proper guide instead of Googling for tutorial on "how to blog" which might be misleading at times when they do not understand your advanced abbreviations and how it can apply on their basic blogging techniques.

That is the reason why people who wants to learn how to blog goes for the basic needs and this is how the book "blogging for dummies" makes large amount of profits by selling this book which covers facts and tutorials on how to get a blog setup and going which might be worthless and pointless stuff but it means alot to the readers who are looking for a comprehensive tutorial in one book.

Does Publishing a book earn you more profit than blogging?
I am sure everyone have to agree that writing and publishing a book takes a period of time to compile a structured format which you can frame it together to create a book, with all the time spent on creating the book, there is also a risk which you take by publishing and not make a profit but if you do become successful like Timothy Ferris who is the author of Fourhourworkweek and the best seller in New york, then publishing a book would mean more than blogging.

On the other hand, if you own a very successful blog that brings in passive income of $30k monthly, what will be your initial thoughts about publishing a book? Are you comfortable with this income you are constantly making monthly or are you out to make more? Will you go through the trouble of releasing a book? Do you have a choice of choice of both, I believe you do have but none of these income comes easy without brain storming how a blog or book can help impact a reader mind in the end.

Both scenarios shown here are not done overnight, it requires time, passion and also the opportunity to allow that income to start flowing in. You might disagree with me because recently you could have landed on a page which mentioned "how Lazy people like that dude could make $2500/day why can't you?" Don't be conned and fall into such traps, these are fast and efficient phrase that captures your attention which brings you into your fantasy world of making it rich but after paying $100, you get nothing but just a 50 page ebook covering nothing but where you can find these resources and that which are widely spreaded on the internet.

Where do i find Time?
Time is control by each individual, firstly you need to create capacity for yourself and then look into planning a schedule so that you can spare yourself 1-2 hours to start your blog or write your book. Like i said all income do not fall from the sky overnight, just continue with your passion and honesty in the virtual work is what many social marketers look for and on that note you can do your collaboration projects which you have in mind that you could share to receive more feedbacks.

Passion is not created but is within your Soul
You are unable to create passion, you need to have interest in the thing you want to do, if you love blogging so be it start your blogging career and niche out a topic which you cover that is unique. Opportunity That Comes and Go
I have been through many ups and downs, and each time i missed out something i want to do, i will always say it's a waste i did not do or attend. Something you got to catch the right timing to board the train so does success, timing and putting everything into action comes swiftly in one move, like how the samurai uses their katana sword to slicing through the bamboo with perfection.

This lesson was a personal experience but i thought it would be good that i share this little thoughts and incident that triggered me to think twice on how i can work on targeting a specific group of people on the blogs i own and the upcoming projects i have.

Problogger Goes Forbidden To His Readers?

I am not sure whether Problogger got hacked or was it just a server problem which caused this to happen but it's the first time i see this message coming from Darren's blog. Last year there were a number of blog's account that got hacked which caused a stir in the blogging community. If i remember correctly, it was a group of Turkish hackers that got our attention after they sent out a deliberate answer to who is behind all these.

We got to also remember how John Cow used this news to his advantage by creating linkbait contest giving away $100 telling others his blog just got hacked! I am sure Darren is ethical and will not have to resort to such ways to receive backlinks for his blog.

Something's gone wrong with Darren's blog and the server is giving a 403 Forbidden message, it also tells me Darren uses "Apache/2.0.52 (Red Hat) Server at www.problogger.net Port 80". It was something i did not know and what's the use of this message to me, i am not sure since i am not that tech savvy, could it help "others" gain access to his server? Let's just hope Darren is well informed of this and get his blog back in shape.

Google Pagerank Gives a Sloppy Update

After the news of Google updating everybody's pagerank, finally the ranking reaches my country shore and i got an update just yesterday night that i am now PR4 so i did manage to move up one level. It will take about a week to really have everyone satisfied with the pagerank given to them.

Thankfully, i have not heard any drop of pagerank yet from high authority blog, mainly because they no longer sell paid links which was a big issues taken seriously by Google. You could have also notice your blog jumping from PR0 to a PR4 in the first 4 months of your blogging experience which is nothing strange so take this as a gift from Google and continue with the way you have been blogging over that period of time.


This Pagerank update felt Sloppy and everyone seems to be sick and tired of hearing the next Quarter update so bloggers rather concentrate on their contents rather than building a blog made for pagerank. If Google don't do anything quick, this pagerank status might just be irrelevant over the next period of time.

Setting New Blog Goals In 2008 While We Recap Wonderful Moments of 2007!

It's been a great year 2007 for me as i see this blog grow under my own hands. The goals i have set for December came close and thought i was not able to break the Technorati 10,000 mark but it was close at 10,627 which i am confident to break in January 2008.

My Alexa Rank also did not move to the ideal 55,000 but it did broken the 60,000 mark which i am still happy and a total of 19,543 uniques in the past month which broken my November record of 13,458 uniques.


New Blog Design
Everybody got a new blog design and i could not be lagging behind and in order to build a unique design which is only offered to me alone, i decided to code my own design which got me working for 7 straight days since i was a newbie and i had to learn from scratch. After completing my design, i feel a sense of achievement which i have not felt for a while but it was worth the 7 days spent.

The new blog design brought in advertisers who were interested in advertising with me and it was quick that EtienneTeo was sold out in less than 2 days. I must say it was a very motivating moment from then that i should just drop adsense from the front fold and concentrate on getting direct advertisers.


Making Money
This Blog alone had 2 main income source which was my direct advertisers and also my adsense portion which was visible only if you leave a comment at the bottom half of my blog and i left it there to experiment whether i will still be making money and just last week i receive my adsense cheque which i made $205.05 in a month experiment and this proves that you can still make money with adsense, what you need is just Traffic!

Direct advertising became my source of income, and for the start of year 2008, i have another few slots of 125x125 banner up for sales which i am actively looking for suitable sponsors on my blog. The Traffic and Backlinks Just Grew
It was amazing how much traffic you can drive when you write list of resourceful information, i have experienced how well targeted it could lead to and how much drive it could get you too. My highest number of backlinks received was when i wrote on 21 punching tips on social media and the highest received traffic i got through Stumbleupon was writing 101 tips i learned from blogging. Till this day i have written 21 resourceful post which i would like to share with you.

Rss Readers Growing
Last Month, my RSS Readers stays staggered at 250 but my recent contest which could win you a social media script took off my readers subscriptions and it blast past the 300 which was set for and i am happy to see the growth of my Rss Readers. It was one of the effectively methods i have talked about in my previous article and it works well for me. Moving Forward to 2008
As we move forward in 2008, there are many exciting activities which i plan for over at my blog which i am looking forward to great participation from the general crowd. I am sure you will be keen in participating in one of these events which i have highlighted.

I have thought of starting a writing project among a group of bloggers who would like to participate and it would be a great opportunity to have your blog post exposed here and a chance to grab a backlink from me. The theme is to produce a a 'Top 10 List" and i am not going to restrict the category that could participate other than those which have offensive text,gambling and anything that is deem harmful to the eyes of my readers. What We Can Learn From David Airey's Mishap

David Airey's domain got hacked/cracked just a week before Christmas and he was lucky to have a redirected domain which allowed his blog to stay online and also his message spread across the internet quickly with 3,700 diggs and other social sites. A total of 50,000 unique visitors understand the pain and trouble David is going through.

I am surprised by how thoughful his dedicated host was as David could have got his blog crashed when over 50,000 visitors comes in daily after hearing his news and it was just a good job done by his host. Just yesterday, David had to go through a list of documents and photocopied details of himself before goDaddy released the domain back to him and of course that could not have been done without the help of the internet people.

Make sure your security portion is covered and you have done the correct settings to your Gmail account so that you will not be the next victim like David which he explains how you can set your filters on your Gmail. It is your responsibility if you want to use a free email service like Gmail for your business. It is the same service many are using but if you do cover your measures right then you should not have such a problem surfacing.

You can call then surfers, readers or even net passerby who wants a piece of this unique story that could have been seen as a hoax or even a deliberate act by David to create a crowd, but it was the people who are on the internet who helped David restored his dot com domain and he is proud of those who have helped him in communicating and guiding him along the way, and those who have helped spread the news through their daily rumbles or even on social news site which attracted that many people to know about this story and that we will never give in to hacker/cracker who are trying to be funny with us.

What we have learned through David's lesson?
Although David had lost his domain in the first place but since he had done a redirect route to his dot co uk domain, his blog is up and running and this should be the precaution action you should take if there is a possible hijack of your domain, why not purchase another domain under your same name but you might want to try (.net, .info). Anyway a domain from godaddy only cost $9.99, if you are making money online then that amount should not be too different i guess.

Advertisements With Visual Effect Works - Google Finally Understands

Google Adsense is a god father figurine in all ad services and a popular PPC program to get you rolling in cash regardless whether you are tech savvy or not. Google is just around for too long and it's old school text ad units could be easily recognize over time. Don't give up on Adsense yet if you are not making any money or try anything funny to break the rules which you will not want to see your account being banned.

Problogger announced the latest Adsense experiment which had a number of bloggers trying out their new ad unit, this is how it looks with the old look and the more interactive ad unit which was recently displayed.

Finally Google understands that we are humans after all and a little visual product effect might help boost the sales with each click and i am looking forward for this new interactive unit to be available for everyone and let's hope they are not going to restrict international users like how Widgetbucks snubs all of it's international publishers.

It Is Time To Say Thank You!

Both my advertisers and readers are the greatest resources here in EtienneTeo dot com! First let me say thank you to you guys for supporting me and allowing me to bring you a list of respectable resource sites and daily rants on the internet in the month of November.

There will only be another 2 more 125x125 slots available for the month of Dec since 6 other have already extended their advertising for another month through my experiment promotion.

A new month with new targets to meet and I would like to thank my blog readers and loyal Rss Subscribers for sticking around and giving me valuable comments and replies through my email so that i can enhance both my writing and blog structure. I would like to say November was a pretty successful one and my targets set were mostly achievable so for what i wish for Xmas from Santa Claus is to Gimme More(no Britney Spears please)!!

• Technorati Rank hits 16,000 and 1,000 over the expected target so in December i decided to push it to 10,000 and below
  
  
• Pagerank remains as 3 and i do not wish to see it drop instead i will be looking forward for a 4 or 5 in the next couple of months to go.
  
  
• Alexa Rank hits the target of 70,000 and it jumped a total of 25,000 in a month. It was achievable since i have a great loyal supporters constantly giving me good backing! I intend to hit a good 55,000 before 2007 wraps up!
  
  
• Rss Readers took off from 180 to 250 in a month and i am still looking forward to more readers subscribing to my contents. Subscribing to a blog does not cost you a single cent, what could have cost you is not subscribing to a blog that provides you with free vital information that helps you make more money! • My Earnings improved for the month of November and i will not want to give an elaborate report on my income statement since i am only with eBay,Adsense and my Direct advertisers. My first income driven is through eBay and it's always stayed at the peak, maybe one day my direct advertisers can help me do the breakthrough!

Kumiko's Passion For Cash Is Over

Following the success of Matt's Bloggingfingers which sold for $4,000, Cashquests was the next blog to be sold for $15,000 with over 900 Rss Readers and a very active community of remarkable money making lovers who read her blog daily without fail just to make remarkable money, I guess all joy have to come to an end and it was clear that kumiko had no intention to keep this blog posting even after the sales and this blog just died on 19th Nov 2007.


Money Can Kill A Blogger's Passion
Money could have killed kumiko's passion and drive to continue with this blog and that could be the reason why she sold the blog at $15,000 without a single post since 19th Nov 2007. Why do i say that? If you are a loyal reader on Cashquests, you will see that she will do anything for money other than the physical portion because her blog is 100% about make money online.

Please don't get the wrong idea and i respect what Cashquests is doing over at her blog. After Matt Jones sold his blog, Kumiko have been dropping hints on the possibility of her selling her blog. I am convinced we will not see another post from kumiko unless the new owner pays her $100 to do guest blogging on her old site Cashquests to continue writing as an editor for Cashquests.

Is Kumiko for Real?
This is the question and query I have been asked after i posted a review on her. Reading on the review i wrote on her the last time around shows that the only photo ever taken and publish on her old blogspot which shows a demure girl who claims to make $1,500 a month with Adsense but i guess all ended when too many of her perverted readers clicked excessively on ads which might have cost her income over time but she did make a name for herself over time.

I am very sure she was doing it right and her "perverted readers" who fantasy her daily could be the key to her success and as i said "sex sells" in the first portion of my title. Female photo tends to get more attention than a male photo, don't you agree with me, will you feel hot now that you have seen my photo, i doubt so? What if i told you Kumiko is just a nerdy fat bastard making you go crazy over "her", would you have second thoughts now?

Personal Blogs domain are much trustworthy to read
When it comes to a personal blog like etienneteo.com, blog flipping seems to be out of the question and making a profit out of my domain name will be harder than selling adspace on my blog. Recently i have been subscribing to many blogs who tends to use their personal name as a branding icon and you could have realised after the news that Cashquests was sold, i removed Cashquests link from my blogroll and i am sure i make the right choice to become a remarkable money maker and start exploring others who have the potential to help make money together here at etienneteo.com.

If Kumiko is fake then this was perhaps the most successful plot ever planned!
An image of a demure girl and a little bitching on how you can make remarkable money online driving 30,000 viewers and 900 over Rss readers crazy over her daily contents was certain one of the most successful way of running a blog. If she was fake then who is behind this whole plot, was my guess right on the fat sneaky bastard?

Kumiko's Cash Quest is certainly Over
Kumiko might have forgotten 900 Rss readers and close to 15,000 visitors per month are still waiting to see her update on who the new owner would be and how the owner is going make cashquests a more enjoyable place to stay with since kumiko is no longer blogging about remarkable money making. What are the changes expected? Everyone is still waiting for an answer, 3 days have gone by and i am sure the update will never come again soon, so i have decided to unsubscribe to cashquests. I am sure she knows that and since then her blog does not carry the Rss Readers counter since she does not want others to know how drastic the drop is!

Of course i will still want to wish "kumiko" luck in spending the $15,000 she made by selling her blog wisely venturing other opportunities that can make her remarkable money and to the new owner who owns cashquests, this is your last chance to start writing contents and retain some of your loyal readers before everyone leaves this money making blog. WidgetBucks Turns Into LaughingBucks

When Widgetbucks changed it's policy against non English websites, many felt it was an ad network not to be trusted but i still feel it is far from a scamming network since it was backed by mpire. I suspected more was coming but not the latest news that shocked me after Widgetbucks decides to take down those sites and traffic that does not comes from US based.

Widgetbucks seems to be the next hype ad network to take over Adsense but i was puzzled why my rates are dropping since i had an impressive $0.56 click rate, I made $24.57 and then suddenly it drops to $23.34 but with an increase number of clicks, surprising i never made it for the first withdraw over time and now i am still stuck at $23.20. This would be the end of my journey with Widgetbucks after Auctionads failed to impress me, They can take my $23.20 as a donation for being the worst ad network i have seen over my 7 months of blogging!

A bunch of monkey's running the show at Widgetbucks and i must agree on Cashquests view on them. Problogger's interview with Widgetbucks CEO Matt Hulett shows signs of what they plan to do with those who are not performing well with Widgetbucks. It was only recently mentioned on their official free blog that all non US traffic and users would not be receiving any more publisher credit for clicks made.

Us Residents Do Make Money
Look at Zac Johnson flaunting on his October earnings with Widgetbucks and to be honest, Zac seems to be the only one showing off his earning and he made $123.55 and Zac thinks WidgetBucks is a great solution for sites that have content targeted to the ads being displayed(I guess he means US based Sites which can make Widgetbucks money).

I am feeling Angry and Frustrated ^&*^&$
I may not be the first to throw this post at you, but i guess you 'Monkey' do like to change your orders pretty quickly over time and let me tell you why you should have gone into a beta status in the past and allow a group of invites to work first hand on your so called global and internationally friendly ad network.

1. You will be able to notice that it can only work for US residents.
2. You will be able to notice that it is the US publishers who will convert your ads into RPC
3. You will be able to stop the number of publishers who are non US resident that does not give you the RPC you wanted.
   

Do you think i care that you are not making your RPC?
As a Ad network, you failed to anticipate your next move quick enough and you have to wait for one freaking month with your acclaimed 800,000 to 900,000 unique visitors, 30,000 publishers and then bust our earnings after your recent statement?

"Starting Nov. 15, clicks coming from outside the U.S. and Canada on WidgetBucks widgets will no longer be charged to merchants, and therefore, no publisher credit will be given for those clicks. This will positively impact publisher RPC levels, and the change does not affect earnings from October or the first half of November."

I guess your dedicated crew and diligent team(monkeys) forgot to change your FAQ, please have it changed and do not give others the wrong impression that they can make money online(widgetbucks i am referring not mpire) with you if they are non US residents.

The Whole paragraph reads like this:
Yes, as long as the site meets the terms of service. Please be aware that our terms of service does not allow non-english sites without prior written consent. Widgetbucks can be placed on any site that has traffic. Because all of the products are from US based merchants and are in US dollars, the likelihood of click conversion is greater for a US targeted audience, but you can still use WidgetBucks on Non-U.S. based sites.

A solution for us Non US resident..but no thanks!
Hell Yeah, i am a publisher with lots of non US traffic coming your way and i am not going to use your service anymore, my experiment technology blog was getting $23.00 and i am just going to give you back since it's peanuts to me. Your statement just disgust me after you want to bring us down and then try to give another solution to start another service for us, who knows you might just throw in the towel and tell us,"sorry guys we apologies that currently this service will not longer be in use."

"If you are a publisher with a lot of non-US traffic, we suggest using a geo-based ad placement service to determine when to display a WidgetBucks ad widget versus an internationally applicable ad. Some examples include MaxMind, IP2Location, etc, and there are solutions available for OpenAds that do this as well."

Since i have given my money as a donation to Widgetbucks back, i need to find another ad network to boost my earnings on my tech blog, did John Chow once talked about how TTZ Media would make us more money? It might be the choice for those who are non US resident to run ad network, nowadays every ad network is only meant for the US Residents, kinda getting sick and tired that they are not giving opportunities to the Asians and Europeans. What do you think of Widgetbucks after hearing this?
