Widgetbucks had given me a shock after its latest press release gave every publisher and advertiser confidence again with its 10million boost to its funding! With eight months of experience in the CPC Ad Network, it is already causing a stir with one after another blows that have lost many international publishers even since their announcement to remove non English publishers and next all Non-US residents from Widgetbucks.
I thought i would never be paid for the effort to try out this ad network, which finally after 1 month of trying, they decided to pay me the balance that they own in December 2007. I was happy that i received my payment but sad since i would have to lose an income that grew with prospect and was surely a better ad network than many others that claims to earn you dollars but it never did happen.

Since launch in October 2007, WidgetBucks has had rocket-ship growth, and your participation as a publisher has brought us to this successful milestone. We just surpassed 5 billion total ad widget impressions, and July is projected to be our first 1 billion impression month.
Of course i would love to see Widgetbucks reinstating the international and non-English publishers to continue with this wonderful ad network. This was an effective ad network that works well with a number of my niche blog group!

WidgetBucks Pays Via Paypal For November Earners
Widgetbucks distributed their payments for November Publishers via Paypal this week and will mail to those who requested for a check. It was a revolutionary advertising option at first and it was even thought to be an ad network which is a google adsense killer, i am sure everyone would have suspected that they are just a bunch of scammers but they did their first payment in December 2007 which proves they are serious. Apparently i left my account and did not bother to check what's my earnings since then. It came as a surprise that my payment for November reached me via paypal.
The earnings was pretty decent since i did not do much to my tech blog which still got me $55.47 over the 2 months of experimenting the widget. I will continue to monitor and see how it goes and carry on with the service just to make sure i am wrong about Widgetbucks.

After compiling the 14 answers given, i felt it was good to share with my readers what they have to say and their responses could be the decisive answer to you choosing or breaking the idea of stepping into a niche like "make money online".

"This is one of the most important things that you can do as you look to starting your own blog in a competitive niche. If the niche you want to enter is 'Dogs' and you feel this is to competitive for you liking, then why not focus on just big dogs or a certain breed of dogs.
The benefit of doing this is that you are giving yourself less competition but you will also find that a lot of the people looking for blogs on dogs will also find your blog of interest - making your potential readers not much smaller."

Conclusion
I personally feel that this niche is pretty much stalled and new bloggers should seek for something fresh to talk about unless you have a strong past of making huge dollars and proof of the amount that you make online and willing to share your journey on how you make your money through the internet.
I had enough of those landing pages which shows me a picture of a couple enjoying themselves in Hawaii and carrying a laptop around and claim they make $100,000 monthly. If you are serious about this niche then you can consider exploring something unique and fresh to the eyes of the viewers and change the way they look at "make money online" blog.

So when you go into saturated business, you will want to look at the possibility of having a certain niche in your business which makes you stand out from others. It could be your brand name? It could be your
quality control? It could be your extra features? And the worst part could be because you have a lower price?
Niche business basically means new market being open up. And that means it probably only takes a seasoned businessman to bring this business up and running smoothly and dominate the market instantly.
Saturated business basically means we have to be more creative in and bringing our product near to the customers, making them feel that they have bought something in this world that can improve their lives in one way or another."
Conclusion
I personally feel that this niche is pretty much stalled and new bloggers should seek for something fresh to talk about unless you have a strong past of making huge dollars and proof of the amount that you make online and willing to share your journey on how you make your money through the internet.
I had enough of those landing pages which shows me a picture of a couple enjoying themselves in Hawaii and carrying a laptop around and claim they make $100,000 monthly. If you are serious about this niche then you can consider exploring something unique and fresh to the eyes of the viewers and change the way they look at "make money online" blog.

WidgetBucks Turns Into LaughingBucks
When Widgetbucks changed it's policy against non English websites, many felt it was an ad network not to be trusted but i still feel it is far from a scamming network since it was backed by mpire. I suspected more was coming but not the latest news that shocked me after Widgetbucks decides to take down those sites and traffic that does not comes from US based.
Widgetbucks seems to be the next hype ad network to take over Adsense but i was puzzled why my rates are dropping since i had an impressive $0.56 click rate, I made $24.57 and then suddenly it drops to $23.34 but with an increase number of clicks, surprising i never made it for the first withdraw over time and now i am still stuck at $23.20. This would be the end of my journey with Widgetbucks after Auctionads failed to impress me, They can take my $23.20 as a donation for being the worst ad network i have seen over my 7 months of blogging!
A bunch of monkey's running the show at Widgetbucks and i must agree on Cashquests view on them. Problogger's interview with Widgetbucks CEO Matt Hulett shows signs of what they plan to do with those who are not performing well with Widgetbucks. It was only recently mentioned on their official free blog that all non US traffic and users would not be receiving any more publisher credit for clicks made.
Us Residents Do Make Money
Look at Zac Johnson flaunting on his October earnings with Widgetbucks and to be honest, Zac seems to be the only one showing off his earning and he made $123.55 and Zac thinks WidgetBucks is a great solution for sites that have content targeted to the ads being displayed(I guess he means US based Sites which can make Widgetbucks money).
I am feeling Angry and Frustrated ^&*^&$
I may not be the first to throw this post at you, but i guess you 'Monkey' do like to change your orders pretty quickly over time and let me tell you why you should have gone into a beta status in the past and allow a group of invites to work first hand on your so called global and internationally friendly ad network.
As a Ad network, you failed to anticipate your next move quick enough and you have to wait for one freaking month with your acclaimed 800,000 to 900,000 unique visitors, 30,000 publishers and then bust our earnings after your recent statement?
The Whole paragraph reads like this:
Yes, as long as the site meets the terms of service. Please be aware that our terms of service does not allow non-english sites without prior written consent. Widgetbucks can be placed on any site that has traffic. Because all of the products are from US based merchants and are in US dollars, the likelihood of click conversion is greater for a US targeted audience, but you can still use WidgetBucks on Non-U.S. based sites.
A solution for us Non US resident..but no thanks!
Hell Yeah, i am a publisher with lots of non US traffic coming your way and i am not going to use your service anymore, my experiment technology blog was getting $23.00 and i am just going to give you back since it's peanuts to me. Your statement just disgust me after you want to bring us down and then try to give another solution to start another service for us, who knows you might just throw in the towel and tell us,"sorry guys we apologies that currently this service will not longer be in use."

- You will be able to stop the number of publishers who are non US resident that does not give you the RPC you wanted.

This will positively impact publisher RPC levels, and the change does not affect earnings from October or the first half of November."I guess your dedicated crew and diligent team(monkeys) forgot to change your FAQ, please have it changed and do not give others the wrong impression that they can make money online(widgetbucks i am referring not mpire) with you if they are non US residents.

"If you are a publisher with a lot of non-US traffic, we suggest using a geo-based ad placement service to determine when to display a WidgetBucks ad widget versus an internationally applicable ad. Some examples include MaxMind, IP2Location, etc, and there are solutions available for OpenAds that do this as well."

Google Adsense seems to have given advertisers more reasons why every penny spent is worth forking out for and the changes made will drive define targeted traffic to advertisers landing page.
Problogger leaks out news on how your Adsense earnings will be affected with changes made on the text ads, if this is true then chances of mis-led clicks on the white space of the ads will not exist anymore. No longer will invalid clicks on background ads and those out of the the new clickable zone be able to make money!
As you can see, the click zone has been drastically reduced. Of course Google's respond to this is all in the advertisers point of view:
In fact i am very positive of this move made by Google Adsense and i am not worried at all that i might be receiving lesser click, because i see more advertisers willing to pay bigger bucks to stay in the program, and we might see a change in our earnings again. Let's just hope their payout can be what Yahoo Publisher's being paying like $2 per click. Google's move might be a win-win situation for both advertisers and publishers making more money over the long run!

The logic behind this is very simple, If you own a tech company which deals millions of dollars a day and you need another new crew member, a software designer which you intend to employ in the next following day. 2 applicants came forward and presented their resume. both had the same qualifications and desire to dedicated their time at work and accepts your $3,500/mth salary but Designer A had a period of experience with another tech company for 3 years which Designer B only had 1 year of experience, who would you employ, Designer A or B?
Since the recent updates, i see many blogs which are more than 1 month old with at least 100 minimum backlinks to hit PR1 -PR5. Everyone rejoices over their pagerank but have you started to make plans on how you are going to exploit this extra gift that Google have given you?

WidgetBucks Turns SlowBucks - Remove Non English Sites and Remove Backlinks But Speeds up loading Time
Widgetbucks have been in the limelight for sometime now, the users are getting tired of their loading speed so they remove, they knew they are out of Google's search engine so they remove the hidden backlinks on the widgets, but why did they exclude Non English Sites using their programs?
The email news spread across all publisher using widgetbucks and the first big improvement that everyone was concern about is the loading speed of the flash widget. The last time i calculated with my stopwatch, it took nearly 5 Seconds to load on offpeak hours and 8 Seconds on peak hours.
It was quite disturbing to see that they speed was that slow and i believe this could be time wasted on making more clicks on your site as readers skip your widgets once it does not load up the claimed attractive shopping ads.How fast is it loading now? HmM...i got it up in less than 3 seconds this time around but i am monitoring closer on my technology blog which i am running my widgetbucks.
Hidden Backlinks caused red card on WidgetBucks
Shoemoney first brought up this article on why google hates widgetbucks so much? Apparently, when you type the keyword widgetbucks, you do not see it's official site on the front page nor the second page. I did not bother to search on, so i presume they have either been banned or penalize by Google because of one thing!
If you were to read the term and condition of the older policies which i doubt you can find it now, they stated this.
If you are Google, do you feel pissed off when they have hidden backlinks on theirflash widget? What widgetbucks have done is to try and salvage the whole situation by making sure the new policies takes effect and that every users will change their widget code so that their flash widget will load faster, now is this a motive or what?
Let's presume Widgetbucks team is trying to test how efficient Google was and since they have lost the battle, this was just a way to make their user think they will get a faster loading speed if they were to change the flash widget code and in the mean time removing their backlink experiment which was a failure. Can this be possible, or am i just thinking too much?
Non English Sites Say F*ck you widgetbucks for telling us now!
I pity the non English sites for becoming a guinea pig to widgetbucks, their new policies also states that they will exclude all non English Sites in their program.
What might be the decision to removing non english sites totally out of this program?
I am sure the removal of the backlinks and a change of your coding could have improve the speed and the loading time of your flash widget for now, Is this doing well only for those who are on high speed cable, I have a widget loading on my blog, What is the speed it takes to loading with your Internet Speed and how long does it take to load?
